Millions die monthly from atrocities committed by governments to feed their border wars, while megacorporations destroy countless lives to preserve their profit margins, and yet the Coalition has the nerve to claim moral superiority by defending their values. Anyone with a modicu-m of clarity can percieve the inherent hypocrisy in this behavior, and rather than perpetuating this endless cycle of power propogation there are a few with the vision to see new opportunities, not just for themselves, but humanity as a whole.
I am sympathetic to any attempt at progressing the course of humanity beyond the petty agendas of corporate CEOs and petty governments. The Nation is my home and I take pride in contributing to their cause.

Originally by: Andreus LeHane And this agenda includes genocide, mass kidnapping and mutilation and illegal invasion of territory - all the things you claim to despise in the Empire factions. The people were never asked if they desired your "enlightenment".
You'll never win this war of words, and you'll never win the war of blows you've started either.
I've never claimed moral superiority, just the hypocritical behavior of your own ilk who feel it necessary to eradicate the Nation from existence. We do what has to be done to achieve our goals, and we will continue to long after you've lost interest.

The atrocity and decimation of an entire culture and its people will never be balanced until the empires are turned to rubble.
I also find it amusing how everyone points to Kyonoke as a justification for ill intent. The Empires have numerous doomsday devices capable of evaporating the surfaces of entire planets (see Titans), why isn't there any upset over this? History has proven these empires are far from benevolent caretakers.

Yuki, the end result is the same. Fire a doomsday weapon into the planet, everyone dies. Launch a deadly plague onto a planet, lots of people will perish. Considering the Nation's strategy at present has been the removal/liberation/abduction of citizens from planets, what suggests Kuvakei has any intent of actually using it?
Control is certainly at the forefront of this conflict, but I think you're being intentionally blind when its convenient for you.

Please answer the question, Ms. Li.
Anabella, people did come freely and then the empires came and obliterated them from existence. Then they spent the next hundred years justifying their genocide convincing people like you the Nation is your nightmare. It's unfortunate that you choose to capitulate to your own fear, but I can't help you unless you maintain an open mind.

And yet, you seem to find no concern that these empires wield equally (if not greater) destructive elements in their arsenal. Your discriminating attitude on this matter is a conventional practice amongst the Coalition mob and precisely the reason I find this propaganda so hypocritical. You might find some comfort in the fact that Tibus Heth wields a fleet of Titans, but I most assuredly do not.

When a nation is ground to dust its survivors are expected to accept this transgression as ancient history, yet the subjugation of the Minmatar home world is a perpetual excuse for bloodshed. How convenient.

Yuki, what did you hope to accomplish in pursuing this debate with me? You have no interest in seeing our perspective on this matter, and your own bias is self-evident in your supposed objectivity.

I assure you the comparison is quite legitimate, Anabella, whether you choose to accept it or not.
You question why people don't simply flock to the Nation if our message and vision was so grand. Master Kuvakei had done so over one hundred years ago, and his society was turned to rubble. This doesn't take hyper-intelligence to deduce the likely path of events that would ultimately lead the Nation to ruin a second time.
I'll also reply once more for posterity, as many of our kin have already voiced a response already. One hundred years of propaganda, warped history lessons, and horror stories about the Nation have engendered a natural bias against anything related to the Nation's history. They would have swept him entirely from the history books had his forces not been tenacious enough to continue to harass operations amidst their borders. Those that yearn to seek the truth of the Nation are persecuted, and many are forced to live in seclusion amidst their respective societies for fear of reprisal.
Given all this, it's not difficult to see why people don't simply flock to the Nation.
Mr. LeHane justifies his animosity against the Nation for the grim realities of war, yet finds no trouble in excusing his own government's long list of atrocities committed not only against the Caldari people but the Nation itself. Civilians, including women and children, die in any war in far more gruesome ways than the kind he has described. As far as I'm concerned, these people were condemned the moment they were born, and were I not fortunate enough to qualify as a capsule pilot my fate might also have been sealed.
These aren't words of a drone, but an intelligent, self-aware individual that has laid witness to the 'morally superior' and their duplicitous behavior that reinforces my chosen path.

Edited by: Nola Doyle on 02/07/2010 03:00:25 It's a shame you've forgotten the atrocities committed when your government obliterated a peaceful Nation over a hundred years ago. If this behavior passes your standards as human I'll happily relinquish my residency amongst your ilk.

My purpose in this discussion has been to reveal the hypocrisy in your propaganda. You and your Coalition lackeys have exposed a superb double-standard when it comes to the judgement of the Nation in comparison to the sins of the governments you profess your allegiances to. Your efforts to dehumanize the Nation as monsters only displays the inherent bias and lack of objectivity in this matter, exhibiting a primal, sub-human pretense for aggression.
In other words, your governments have brainwashed you into being the perfect little foot soldiers to do their dirty work and you happily stomp along like good little drones. And you have the nerve to label us as mindless and misguided. Laughable.
When you decide to behave in a manner fitting of your moral pretense we can discuss your superiority on the subject. Until then, I strongly suggest you work on it before trying to sell it to the public.

You enter a warzone, grease the proverbial wheels of the enemy governments, and are surprised when you're shot. If you're expecting sympathy and diplomatic tolerance from foot soldiers, unfortunately none of us can assist you.
